The world keeps getting smaller

Given the lack of decent radio stations in the LA area (I swear, every frequency is filled, but they’re mostly crap), I find myself occasionally listening to a San Diego station that sometimes comes in clearly. (It’s a step above Star, at least.) It’s about 80-90 miles from here to SD. I was listening to them today, and when the song ended, the DJs came on and announced that they were broadcasting from Disneyland. About 10 miles away. In the other direction.

Current Music: Eh, it would just get stuck in your head.

    1. Veeery interesting….

Between the indecency quiz explaining that it’s concepts and not words that the FCC cares about, and the description of CC’s new zero-tolerance (ugh) policy on “indecency,” I think I’ve figured out why they bleeped the phrase “go down” from “You Oughtta Know” the other day.

      1. ….which sheds light on the recent and positively Victorian edit of “Brown-Eyed Girl” as well. I wonder what a CC station would do with “Night and Day.”

And I also wonder what else people might think Alanis would be doing “on” someone in a theater. Let’s see, two beats….throw up? pass out? spill Coke? walk out?

I think this needs a poll.

        1. It may have been “down on” that was removed, or the entire phrase. I don’t remember exactly.

And it’s a sure bet that no one will be playing Bernadette Peters’ rendition of “Making Love Alone” (which I actually heard on the radio once, during KGIL’s brief time as an all-Broadway AM station).

          Off to start that poll….
