Peer Pressure

As previously posted by maldis, sekl and others:

You are 43% geek

You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.

Normal: Tell our geek we need him to work this weekend.

You [to Geek]: We need more than that, Scotty. You’ll have to stay until you can squeeze more outta them engines!

Geek [to You]: I’m givin’ her all she’s got, Captain, but we need more dilithium crystals!

You [to Normal]: He wants to know if he gets overtime.

    1. Her theory is that it’s the CDs. Having looked at the page source, I’m half-inclined to agree. On the other hand, the highest-scoring answers are the smart-ass ones (like “Ooo, the girls/boys of the internet”). Plus you get bonus points for choosing male/female rather than boy/girl. I don’t know which Katie chose, but I was lazy and left the default selection in, rather than looking at the other options.

You know, I should probably add some bonus points just for doing this analysis!

      1. I did pick “female” and some “boys of the intarweb” answers, but the CD section… sorry, biffed that. I have classical and one album by one artist listened, plus some Broadway showtunes. This is, of course, outnumbered by goth/industrial/synthpop/darkwave and 80s comps and the like.

Plus, completely ignored non-music media: Film, TV, books, RPGs, console gaming… Considering that I’ve got 800 books and at least 300 is in various aspects of the sff genres… fer cryin’ out loud, I oughta get credit for that. Not even one mention of following webcomics, or other things… And you should get geek cred for every dead language studied, formally or informally, IMNSHO. ;P
